About us

Discover Opera was created by Karen Klett. In addition to her work directing student-produced opera programs as an Artist-In-Residence for The Santa Fe Opera, Ms. Klett designs and teaches opera workshops for adults and teens and teaches opera appreciation courses for the University of New Mexico Continuing Education Division. She has worked as a professional actor, writer, and photographer. Her lifelong passion for opera was ignited during the very first opera performance she attended. It was Leontyne Price singing “Tosca” at the San Francisco Opera House and Ms. Klett has never recovered.
