History of Opera Retreat
Return to the candle-lit world of the 17th, 18th, and
19th Centuries for a week-end at Teatro La Lupa, a traditional
eight-sided log Hogan set on 10 acres of wooded land
in the Zuni Mountains.
The History of Opera workshop will trace the development
of Italian opera through audio and video selections from
operas by Monteverdi, Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi,
Leoncavallo and Puccini from its beginnings in 1600 Florence
to the end of the 1800s.
Prepare for a pre-industrial world of soft candle lighting
and the warmth of a wood stove, but of no electricity
and no running water (our TV and DVD will be powered
by battery). For further information, contact Karen Klett at 856-4052
or email OperaClasses@aol.com. |
